WE LIP Success Story | October 2023
The Windsor Essex Local Immigration Partnership created a Newcomer Youth Matrix. The Matrix is a virtual collection of over 75 resources and supports available to youth aged 12-30.
This comprehensive initiative provides a wide range of crucial resources, divided into several different categories that are tailored to the diverse needs of newcomer youth in Windsor Essex. It encompasses a wide array of services including:
- Language and Skill Training Programs
- Settlement Services
- Mental Health Services
- Youth Centre/Recreation Centre/After School Programs
- Youth Counselling Programs
- Employment and Training Services
- Academic Supports
- Other Supports
The Newcomer Youth Matrix was prepared in collaboration and consultation with the WE LIP Newcomer Youth Planning Committee, and with the support of IRCC. Informational cards featuring QR codes have been created to facilitate the dissemination of the service matrix. The WE LIP team plans to promote these services at various community events, through our school board partners, and on various social media platforms.
