About WEskills
As part of the WEskills project, Workforce WindsorEssex provides the following programs and services to the community:
- WEskills Database: a regional skills database, comprised of local resumes, that the City can use to help businesses find potential candidates for hire
- WEjobs: the distribution of local job postings, job fairs, and short-term training opportunities
- Connect job seekers and employers to local Service Providers and programs
- Identify, collect and share:
- News articles relating to business growth and expansion
- New apprenticeship job postings
- Job postings that require French-speaking candidates
- Engage the community through workshops and booths at local events to share local labour market information
The WEskills team is also involved with many local committees, including:
- United Way’s Retiree Volunteer Council
- Community Integration through Cooperative Education Advisory Committee at St. Clair College
- Windsor Essex Employment Group (local Service Providers working together to advocate the hiring of persons with disabilities)
- Windsor Essex Association for Volunteer Administration
