In 2022-2023, WE LIP partnered with Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) Service Providers to develop a resource video for an Afghan Refugees Attraction & Retention Campaign. At the request of IRCC, the goal of this resource, presented in English and Farsi, is to welcome and inform Afghan Refugees at the beginning of their settlement journey of all the benefits and opportunities of settling in Windsor, Leamington, and Essex County.
The resource was made in partnership with the City of Windsor, Municipality of Leamington, the New Canadians’ Centre of Excellence, Inc., the Multicultural Council, the Windsor Islamic Association, and the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario, and offered settlement information, as well as first hand accounts and words of encouragement from local community members.
