WE LIP Success Story | December 2022
The WE LIP’s Winter Council Meeting was held in person on December 8, 2022 at Other Place Catering with over 60 Council members in attendance. As part of the agenda, Charlotte LeFrank, WE LIP Chair led the approval process of the 2022-2023 Terms of Reference.
The Winter Council Meeting was also an opportunity to announce the results of the 2022 WE LIP Executive Election. The 2022 Call for Nominations was sent out prior to the meeting for one (1) WE LIP Vice Chair (2-year term) position and two (2) WE LIP Member at Large positions (2-year term).
One nomination was received for each of the three available positions and the positions were acclaimed. The WE LIP Coordination Team is happy to welcome to the Executive, incoming WE LIP Vice Chair, Ronnie Haidar, Faculty of Law, University of Windsor, WE LIP Member at Large, Dr. Riham Al-Saadi, Sessional Instructor, School of Social Work, University of Windsor and WE LIP Member at Large, Rama Musharbash Kovacsi, WECDSB Community Ambassador, Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board (WECDSB).
The outgoing executive members were thanked including outgoing WE LIP Vice Chair, Sarah May Garcia, Lead, Health Equity and Priority Populations, Ontario Health West Region and WE LIP member at Large, Didier Marotte, Executive Director, Centre Communautaire francophone Windsor Essex Kent.
Michelle Suchiu led Council members in thanking Mary Ellen Bernard, WE LIP Project manager, City of Windsor for her years of commitment, hard work, guidance and support as she retires in December 2022. WE LIP Council members contributed to a retirement video for Mary Ellen which can be viewed along with the PowerPoint presentation on the WE LIP Council webpage
To Mary Ellen Bernard who has been a pioneer and member of the WE LIP Executive for over 15 years, the WE LIP Coordination Team and WE LIP Council sends all our appreciation for leadership, dedication and insights over the years and we wish you a very happy and well deserved retirement!
