WE LIP Success Story | November 2022
In partnership with Centre communautaire francophone Windsor-Essex-Kent Inc. (CCFWEK), Comité local en immigration francophone Windsor Essex Chatham Kent (CLIF WECK), and the City of Windsor, the Windsor Essex Local Immigration Partnership (WE LIP) launched the MyNewCommunity/ MaNouvelleCommunauté tool on Wednesday October 19th, 2022.
This in-person launch event took place at Carrefour Le Centre communautaire francophone de Windsor-Essex-Kent with over 45 community members in attendance.
The launch of this tool makes it possible for newcomers, Francophones and refugees to access a tool that maps out fully accessible programs and services in Windsor-Essex.
This event was attended by community partners from CCFWEK, the City of Windsor, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, Windsor Police, YMCA of Southwestern Ontario, Service Canada and others.
A demonstration of the tool was given by app developer Larisa Johnstone from the City of Windsor. Participants were given the opportunity to ask questions and inquire about the tool’s development process and ways in which it can be accessed.
This tool will be made accessible to further target communities such as Temporary Foreign Workers in the near future. The My New Community tool can be found below.
