WE LIP Success Story | August 2023
On Sunday August 27th, 2023, the WE LIP team supported the Active Care Response Team and the Migrant Worker Community Program in hosting the Caribbean Health Fair at St. Michael’s Parish in Leamington.
The event gave Caribbean migrant workers the opportunity to access medical supports including resources from Black Health Alliance, Black Physicians Association of Ontario as well as crucial information relating to their rights as workers provided by the TeaMWork Project team. As well, the Windsor Essex Ontario Health Team Mobile Medical Support Clinic was present to provide wraparound services such as mental health, addiction and dental supports.
The dynamic event had live music, food and a raffle where participants had the chance to win bicycles and $50 grocery gift cards. This event was successful due to the over 100 participants and the valued partners.
