WE LIP Hosts southwestern ontario lip/rif meeting

On September 29, 2017, the Windsor Essex Local Immigration Partnership hosted a meeting of the Southwestern Ontario Local Immigration Partnerships/Réseau en l’immigration francophone. Representatives from 9 LIP/RIFs travelled down the 401 for an opportunity to come together to share experiences and discuss emerging trends and best practices.
Kathryn Doiron, IRCC Senior Policy Analyst, spoke about:
- findings from the Settlement Program Evaluation
- next steps for LIPs/RIFs
- Community of Practice (CoP) – communication between regional LIPs/RIFs groups
- Annual Project Performance Report (APPR) for Community Partnerships
- the importance of LIP/RIF sustainability planning and consistent funding levels
In addition, attendees were given a tour of the VON Immigrant Health Clinic, along with a presentation from Antionette Nasr, Clinic Coordinator, Jon Jewell, VON Manager of Business Development and External Relations, and Sarah May Garcia, Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network.
