windsor-essex Skilled trades employer survey

Share your thoughts on the apprenticeship as a local employer of skilled trades workers in the manufacturing, construction, service, and motive power industries.

about the In-demand skilled trades PROJECT

Workforce WindsorEssex, on behalf of the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities, is conducting consultations with local employers of skilled trades. Consultation responses will be summarized and shared with the Ministry in hopes of identifying challenges that are affecting Windsor-Essex companies and make recommendations to improve the current apprenticeship system. Workforce WindsorEssex would appreciate your participation in these consultations to ensure that all voices are heard.

To gather employer input, a survey of 15 questions has been developed and should take less than 15 minutes of your time. The survey can be completed here.

Questions asked include:

  • What skilled trade positions are hardest for your organization to fill and why?
  • What has been your organization’s experiences with respect to apprentices dropping out of their apprenticeship training?
  • What changes could the Ontario government make to the apprenticeship program to better respond to the needs of employers?
