Adult Language and Learning is a not-for-profit registered charity organization.

​Adult Language and Learning is funded by the Government of Ontario through the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities and the Government of Canada through the Department of Citizenship and Immigration.

The role of the council continues to evolve but, at the same time, continues to be a constant. To assist those people within our community who are in need of assistance to learn to read and write in the English Language.

Under the Migrant Worker Support Program and the TeaMWork Project, Adult Language and Learning will provide support services (employment insurance, CPP, EI, employment rights, information sessions and workshops, OHIP), emergency support for Migrant Workers in Chatham-Kent, and orientation services for the Migrant Workers arriving in this community.

Under the Migrant Worker Support Program and the TeaMWork Project, CMHA Windsor-Essex County will be providing support services (employment insurance, CPP, EI, employment rights, information sessions and workshops, OHIP), and mental health support for Migrant Workers in Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent, and Windsor-Essex virtually and in-person.


The Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres are non-profit, community governed, multi-service health centres that provide primary health care, health promotion and community development services all under one roof.

We are designed with the community in mind and for that reason we serve persons of all ages who are economically and/or socially disadvantaged with a focus on:

  • Mental health and addictions
  • Persons that face barriers such as race, language, culture and sexual orientation
  • Persons who are homeless/under-housed or at risk for homelessness

Under the Migrant Worker Support Program and the TeaMWork Project, Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres will be providing support services (employment insurance, CPP, EI, employment rights, information sessions and workshops, OHIP), and primary healthcare for Migrant Workers in Chatham-Kent.


Collège Boréal is a public college of applied arts and technology established in Sudbury in 1995.

To this end, it offers more than 80 post-secondary education and apprenticeship programs, including nearly 30 unique French-language programs in Ontario, as well as a range of other services, including continuing education, corporate training, employment services, academic upgrading, literacy and basic skills training, language training services and settlement services for newcomers.

Family Services Windsor-Essex (FSWE) is a non-profit, charitable organization serving Windsor and Essex County. We help people to restore their ability to choose their own place in the world through counselling and individual support services. Under the Migrant Worker Support Program and the TeaMWork Project, Family Services Windsor-Essex (FSWE) will be providing support services (employment insurance, CPP, EI, employment rights, information sessions and workshops, OHIP), and mental health support for Migrant Workers in Windsor-Essex county.


The mission of Legal Assistance of Windsor (LAW) is to enhance access to social justice to marginalized low-income people in Windsor-Essex by providing integrated face-to-face legal and social work services and through individual and systematic advocacy.

Under the Migrant Worker Support Program and the TeaMWork Project, Legal Assistance of Windsor (LAW) will be providing support services (employment insurance, CPP, EI, employment rights, information sessions and workshops, OHIP), emergency support, social & recreational events, legal support, and mental health support for Migrant Workers in Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent, and Windsor-Essex.


Migrant Worker Community Program (MWCP) is a non-profit organization that helps migrant workers assimilating into the community during their stay in Canada. We help them navigate the Canadian system by providing various services such as mental health support, connecting them to the health services, legal services, translation and interpretation services, organizing recreational events among others to make sure that they feel welcomed and safe into the community.

Our program is effective and critical in creating opportunities for integration of this large community into the resident population. MWCP fosters inclusion and welcoming of migrant workers through social, cultural, and recreational events. We function as a bridge between the migrant worker population and the community, based on the understanding that there is a cultural and language barrier that presents challenges in day-to-day interactions. 

Under the Migrant Worker Support Program and the TeaMWork Project, Migrant Worker Community Program (MWCP) will be providing support services (employment insurance, CPP, EI, employment rights, information sessions and workshops, OHIP), emergency support, health & safety guidance, interpretation & translation, language classes, social & recreational events, mental health support, and orientation services for Migrant Workers in Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent, and Windsor-Essex.

Working with our communities, we provide primary health care, health promotion and community development, with a focus on people who face challenges to accessing care.

OUR VISION

Healthy People, Strong Communities

Our multi-disciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers and dietitians provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment and referral to other health care professionals when required. Our primary health care team also advises our clients on how to improve and maintain their health as part of holistic primary care.

We are proud of supporting the migrant community in the Lambton county. The purpose of the program is to provide migrant workers with accurate information and access to available services and supports in the community! Individual supports for workers are available.

Under the Migrant Worker Support Program and the TeaMWork Project, North Lambton Community Health Centre will be providing support services (employment insurance, CPP, EI, employment rights, information sessions and workshops, OHIP), emergency support, health & safety guidance, healthcare, interpretation & translation, social & recreational events, legal support, mental health support, and transportation to Migrant Workers in Sarnia-Lambton.


Mission Statement

The mission of the Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers Inc. (OHCOW) is: to protect workers and their communities from occupational disease, injuries and illnesses; to support their capacity to address occupational hazards; and to promote the social, mental and physical well-being of workers and their families.

We strive to accomplish this through the identification of workplace factors which are detrimental to the health and well-being of workers; by empowering workplace parties to make positive occupational health changes in their workplace and by providing information, knowledge and organizational skills to the workplace parties to eliminate work practices that cause injury, illness and disability.

How does OHCOW help Temporary Foreign Workers and their Employers?

  • Providing resources and education on labour laws and worker safety​
  • Distributing materials such as informative posters, guides and other print materials ​
  • Providing translation services
  • Consultation and research into improving the lives of migrant workers at their jobs

Under the Migrant Worker Support Program and the TeaMWork Project, Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers Inc. (OHCOW) will be providing support services (employment insurance, CPP, EI, employment rights, information sessions and workshops, OHIP), and health & safety guidance to Migrant Workers in Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent, and Windsor-Essex.


South Essex Community Council (SECC) is a registered, charitable organization that serves each and every individual who walks through our doors. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors, who are among the 400 volunteers who assist us in delivering services throughout the year.

SECC delivers services in three primary areas:
1. Employment & Training
2. Language & Settlement
3. Community Services

We also offer information and referral services, community supports such as free income tax clinics and Coats for Kids, and volunteer coordination services.
