Welcome to WEnav, a career navigation curriculum for Windsor-Essex!

WEnav is a career counselling program designed to help those in Windsor-Essex County stay up to date and informed about the local workforce and how it may align with their individual skills and qualifications. The WEnav program was designed and categorized for specific audiences in order to help them on their career exploration journey.

The audiences that the WEnav program target include: job seekers, parents, teachers, newcomers, youth, and employers. The program is arranged in such a way where you can work with each of the worksheets and resources provided at your own pace. You will find that with each resource provided we have indicated third party resources used for your reference, as well as the time needed to complete the activity.

It can be noted that this program was designed under the intention of Benjamin Bloom’s Taxonomy and under the Grade 7 and 8 Ontario Social Studies/History/Geography Curriculum (2018) for career/life planning programs:

“The goals of the Kindergarten to Grade 12 education and career/life planning program are to:
• ensure that all students develop the knowledge and skills they need to make informed education and career/life choices;
• provide classroom and school-wide opportunities for this learning; and
• engage parents and the broader community in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the program, to support students in their learning.”
