Director of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society
As Director of EDI, Hugo supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Society’s mission through strategies that enhance services, programs and objectives to be anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and equity-based.
In prior roles at the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario, Hugo developed and led federally and provincially funded employment and newcomer programs tailored to the needs of at-risk-youth, people with disabilities, and immigrants and refugees in London, Sarnia, and Windsor. This included the launch of the WE Value partnership, a national pilot project introducing innovation to the newcomer settlement sector in the areas of service delivery, technology, and data management.
Hugo has also served as chair of the Windsor-Essex Local Immigration Partnership Council, Legal Assistance of Windsor Board of Directors, and Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative Board of Directors.
