Workforce WindsorEssex is proud to be an Ontario Living Wage Employer
As a living wage employer, we’re committed to paying the highest currently calculated living wage rate in Ontario to all Workforce WindsorEssex employees.
What are the personal values that led your organization to become a living wage employer?
The management team at Workforce WindsorEssex believes that all individuals deserve a wage that supports a dignified life. We recognize that many workers are struggling to make ends meet despite working full-time, and we understand that this can have serious consequences for their physical and mental health, as well as their overall well-being. To support our employees, their families, and our community, we are committed to supporting the living wage campaign. This reflects our core values of fairness, respect, and social responsibility. It also aligns with our focus on workforce development and integration in the community, as paying a living wage can help attract and retain workers and contribute to a healthy and thriving community.
What would you say to other employers about the importance of paying a living wage?
The balance between providing fair wages and ensuring the financial sustainability of a business goes hand in hand. Providing fair compensation, such as a living wage, is key to attracting and retaining an engaged workforce. This not only benefits the employees, but also the business. When employees feel valued and respected, they are more likely to be motivated and committed to their work, which can lead to increased productivity, lower turnover rates, reduced training time, better customer satisfaction.
The Ontario Living Wage Network champions a living wage for Ontarians; an issue of particular concern as inflation and the cost of living continue to increase. As proud leader in this space, we believe that fair compensation for our employees translates to improved financial and overall well-being. To learn more visit: http://www.livingwage.ca
