This Sunday, September 24th, we attended Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres’ Health and Wellness Fair for Migrant Workers at Conagra Brands bunkhouses in Dresden! Bringing healthcare directly to the farm, the event was a great success and well attended. Partnering with Collège Boréal, South Essex Community Council – SECC, Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers Inc. (OHCOW), Adult Language and Learning, and MIGRANT WORKER COMMUNITY PROGRAM, the event also brought access to other supports and orientation services including counselling & mental health resources, employment rights and insurance guidance, transportation services and other health and safety information.

Over 100 Migrant Workers attended the health fair to learn more about their rights and coverage while working in Canada. The event also provided lunch for all attendees, and there were prizes raffled off during the event. A great opportunity for Migrant Workers in Chatham-Kent to connect with local service providers.
