On Friday, June 23rd, 2023, we were invited to attend North Lambton Community Health Centre’s launch event for their Migrant Worker Project! The event saw attendees from all throughout the community, even local politicians and business owners came out to learn more about the project. Local media coverage brought more eyes to the project, and we had a chance to hear from the new team running this project.
There were informational brochures for attendees, as well as a presentation covering what the community can do to help! There were soccer-ball cookies inviting attendees to their soccer tournament later this summer, as well as thank you cards on display at the event created by children in the NLCHC after-school program thanking Migrant Workers for all the work they do harvesting food in Canada. A great introduction for the community in Sarnia-Lambton to the Migrant Worker Support Program.
