Last Sunday, February 4th, the TeaMWork team participated in Legal Assistance of Windsor’s Information Session, shedding light on the Pathways to Permanent Residence for Temporary Resident Permit Holders.

The evening started with food being served at 5 pm, followed by a comprehensive information session at 6 pm. Facilitated by one of LAW’s immigration lawyers, the presentation delved into options available to migrant workers seeking Permanent Residence post-expiration of their Temporary Residence Permit. Two immigration lawyers were also present for personalized consultations after the session, ensuring individualized support. For those unable to attend in person, a zoom link facilitated remote participation.

Our TeaMWork Project liaison was present, sharing informational materials emphasizing rights and benefits while working in Canada. Free pocket agendas were distributed to workers, to help in tracking work hours and note-taking during the session.

The event was a great success and step in answering some of the main questions around pathways to permanent residency for Migrant Workers in Canada. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible!
