On March 12th, The TeaMWork Project was invited by the Diocese of London – Migrant Workers Ministry to attend a hospitality event in Forest, Lambton County. The event brought together workers from Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras for a special dinner after the mass in St. Christopher’s Catholic Church. At the event, Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers Inc. (OHCOW) was present with an information table for the distribution of workplace safety materials. At the end of the dinner, each worker received a welcome bag packed with helpful items like gloves. Something to highlight was the presence of several female migrant workers; one who won a raffle prize that evening. TeaMWork staff answered many questions from workers, especially those related to parental and maternal benefits and the Canada Pension Plan. ????️
