Health Occupations Search and Demand for December 2019
In the month of December 2019, there were a total of 4,475 interactions on the Jobs Board.
Of the 557 instances of searches by keyword, 17 instances were searching for terms associated with the health sector. These terms include: health, health care professional, medical, medical assistant, medical office assistant, medicine, nurse, nursing home, occupational therapist, paramedic, pharmacy, pharmacy assistant, physician, and RPN. There were also 19 instances (6.3% of instances) filtering Skills Type by Health care on the Jobs Board.
Of the 2,887 total active job postings for the month of December 2019, 93 were in Health occupations, posted by 66 companies in the Windsor-Essex region. Of the 93 job postings, 57 were new for the month of December.
Of those 93 jobs, 65 (69.9%) were full time positions and 28 (30.1%) were part time.
A total of 85 (91.4%) were permanent positions, 4 (4.3%) were temporary, and another 4 (4.3%) were contract.
Of the open positions, 35 (37.6%) were looking for either NOC Skill Level A (usually university education), 31 (33.3%) were looking for NOC Skill Level B (usually college or apprenticeship education), and 27 (29%) were looking for NOC Skill Level C (usually secondary education or occupation-specific training).
The top five occupations in demand in Health occupations for the month of December were: Dental assistants with 16 postings, Other medical technologists (except dental health) with 12 postings, Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses with 11 postings, General practitioners and family physicians with 10 postings, and Other technical occupations in therapy and assessment with seven postings.
