This weekend, the TeaMWork Project team attended the MIGRANT WORKER COMMUNITY PROGRAM’s Christmas Celebration at the Leamington Portuguese Community Club on Sunday, December 10th.

The event is an annual tradition, and a great opportunity for Migrant Workers to celebrate the holiday season with friends. Kicking off at 4:00pm, the event had fun for all with live music from Sabor Latino Band, Christmas carols and games, and even entertainment from Optimus Show Events LED Robot Show!

A delicious pasta and salad dinner was provided for attendees, with lots of raffle prizes and giveaways too! There were also informational tables available from many community organizations, there to provide important information to Migrant Workers about their rights and responsibilities while working in Canada.

The TeaMWork team was present with internet connectivity and tablets to help Migrant Workers complete a survey from the Government of Canada, seeking feedback from temporary foreign workers on their experiences living and working in Canada. The responses gathered help to assess the impacts of the Migrant Worker Support Program and inform areas of improvement for future iterations of the program. The event was a big success and a great chance to celebrate during this busy time of year. Thank you to all the organizations who made this event possible:
