Apprenticeship Positions for January 2020

Whether you’re looking for a new career in the new year or you’re eager to move forward through the next step of your career path, an apprenticeship could be the answer.

A total of 52 positions identified as apprenticeships were posted by 36 companies on the Job Board in the month of January 2020 in Windsor-Essex. Of those 52 positions, 31 were new for the month. The 52 positions were posted for an average of 46 days and a median of 33 days.

There were six instances of searching by key words for apprenticeships and 10 instances of filtering by apprenticeship jobs on the Job Board for January 2020.

The majority (38 postings or 73.1%) of apprenticeship postings are for Trades, transport and equipment operators and related occupations. Other skill types being recruited for are: Sales and service occupations (5 postings or 9.6%), Occupations in manufacturing and utilities (4 postings or 7.7%), Natural and applied sciences and related occupations (3 postings or 5.8%), Management occupations (1 posting or 1.9%), and Health occupations (1 posting or 1.9%).

The top five occupations being recruited for are: Tool and Die Makers, Machinists and Machining and Tooling Inspectors, Automotive Service Technicians, Truck and Bus Mechanics and Mechanical Repairers, Machining Tool Operators, and Other Automotive Mechanical Installers and Servicers.

Some of the companies looking for apprentices include AutoCanada Inc. (Apprentice Autobody Refinishing Technicians), CenterLine (Windsor) Limited (Electrical Apprentice and General Machinist Apprentice), Omni Tool Ltd. (Boring Mill Operator, Mold Maker, Lathe Operator), PetSmart Canada Inc. (Pet Groomer Trainee), and Reliance Home Comfort (Warehouse Helper, Plumber), among others.
