Black Boys Code Presents, “Coding Your Own Video Game With Roblox” This workshop is for boys ages 13-17. TWO Weekend workshop- Sept 19 & 26

About this Event

Has your boy ever expressed interest in creating their own video game?

On Saturday September 19th and Saturday September 26th your boy can with our new workshop “Coding Your Own Video Game With Roblox” This two-week workshop is for boys between the ages of Ages 13 to 17.

By the end of this two-week workshop (two Saturdays-Sept. 19th and 26th) learners will be able to:

Design and code a simple obstacle-course-style game.

Test their game and modify the objects and code to correct mistakes.

Use 3D design to create objects and format them using three axes: x, y, z.

Understand what object-oriented programming is.

Understand how to add behaviors or actions to objects with a text-based scripting language. ”

Virtual Childcare Parent Support Services – New Canadians centre of excellence 

The New Canadians’ Centre of Excellence Inc. has provided a variety of Virtual Childcare Parent Support Services (VCPSS) Newsletters, Volumes 1-21. These resources can benefit parents in guiding them in planning fun, educational and age appropriate activities for their children (Infant -12 years). The newsletters also have helpful tips and schedules to assist with maintaining a daily routine.

EDGE, Empowered Diverse Group for Education & Employment (Girlz Crew-Youth Leadership) project gives young women in Windsor-Essex the chance to build their leadership skills, gain volunteer experience, develop employment skills and learn about Windsor-Essex County.

While involved in EDGE youth are able to:
Increase their network
Volunteer in the community
Create lasting friendships
Develop their skills
Build their confidence

Program Eligibility:
Female newcomer and immigrant youth ages 14 to 24
Permanent Residents
Persons in Canada applying to become permanent residents and who have been informed, through a letter from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, of the initial approval of the application subject to an admissibility assessment
Convention Refugees, and Temporary Residents who have entered Canada as a Live-in caregiver
