About the Podcast
In 2018, WE LIP led the #WEBelong public awareness campaign designed to encourage citizens to take a proactive step towards making Windsor and Essex County truly welcoming for all.
The new WE Belong campaign initiative involved the development and production of a weekly podcast to produced and hosted by the Windsor Essex Local Immigration Partnership. By interviewing newcomers, immigrants, refugees, international students, temporary foreign workers, WE LIP Council members, community members, employers, we will:
- Highlight welcoming strategies in Windsor-Essex
- Share news about upcoming or ongoing events, programs, and opportunities
- Celebrate local success stories
- Promote anti-discrimination, anti-racism, and cultural diversity awareness
The initiative included the production of fourteen ~20 minute episodes that aired weekly starting in Fall 2024. Season 1 ended in February 2025, and we look forward to broadcasting Season 2 in Summer 2025.
