On Friday, August 16th, the TeaMWork team was in Dresden, for Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres’ on-farm health fair at Conagra brands!

Many local organizations were present, setting up tents to share important information and valuable resources with Migrant Workers in Chatham-Kent. More than 100 workers from Conagra attended the health fair, as well as many other workers from other local farms that were invited to attend.

Workers received a “punch-card” with 6 places to be punched, with workers receiving a hole-punch after speaking with staff and learning about services available at each organization’s booth. After receiving all the hole-punches, attendees were invited to redeem their punch card for a free lunch provided by Yardie Vibez – Jamaican Kitchen & Lounge in Chatham.

The day was a great opportunity for workers to learn about their rights in Canada and receive some free giveaway items too like sun-hats for working in the field and other useful items.

Thank you to Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres for organizing the event and inviting us to attend, and thank you to all the organizations who made this event possible:
