WE LIP Success Story | January 2024
On January 23, 2025, the Windsor Essex Local Immigration Partnership (WE LIP) and the University of Windsor School of Social Work hosted the Newcomer Youth Resilience Project Sharing Session. The event provided a platform to explore ground-breaking research on the resilience and mental health of immigrant and refugee youth. The event brought together researchers, service providers, and community leaders to share insights and best practices.
Here are the Highlights of the Event:
- The session opened with welcoming remarks from Dr. Jayashree Mohanty, followed by a land acknowledgement and introductory remarks from Dr. Cheryl Collier and Dr. Wayne Ambrose Miller of the University of Windsor.
- The research presentation provided an in-depth look into the experiences of newcomer youth and the factors contributing to their resilience and mental well-being.

- Nada Ahmed, the Centre communautaire francophone Windsor-Essex-Kent (CCFWEK)
