The Youth Matrix is a collection of resources and supports available to young people up to age 30 in Windsor-Essex.

Employment and training services (below) within the Youth Matrix equip young individuals with the necessary resources, guidance, and skills to successfully navigate the job market, providing them with opportunities for professional growth, career exploration, and access to employment pathways.

Description: The Career Planning page on the Job-Bank Youth portal now provides a step-by-step overview of career planning and offers relevant tools, assisting users in planning their career moves and accessing resources, while the “Field of Study Tool” has been renamed the “School to Work Transition Tool” to help users find education programs that lead to positive employment outcomes by quickly assessing their labor market prospects.

Description: Y Works is an unemployment program for youth and young adults (ages 15-30) that helps them overcome employment barriers. The program offers a variety of activities over a 5-week period, including individual and group-based support, employability skills workshops, and job placement or training opportunities. Participants who enter the workforce receive an additional 12 weeks of tailored support for long-term success.

Description: The SEAT Program is designed to empower young women aged 15-30 to explore careers in STEM/STEAM fields. Participants in this program will have the opportunity to collaborate on a community-based project focused on creating positive change. Through the SEAT Program, you can meet new people, develop leadership skills, learn about robotics, work on a group project, connect with mentors in STEAM fields, build employability skills and create a resume, earn community service hours (120 hours), go on industry tours, and attend the Social Impact Exhibit. It’s a comprehensive program that offers valuable experiences and support for young women interested in STEM/STEAM.
