What later developed into a fruitful partnership started with a few meetings and a demonstration of the K2 Pathway to Settlement System to the Immigrant Services Calgary Gateway team.
Gateway, a similar initiative to WE Value, was working to develop their own system to support centralized needs and asset assessment and referral services (NAARS) for the broader Calgary Region. With goals of ensuring user-centred design principles, scalability, community coordination and data collection, the alignment between Gateway and WE Value was undeniable.
The catch of course, was that the K2 Pathway to Settlement System was already in use. Gateway only had concepts of a system. So, over the course of several months, ISC and YSWO began exploring whether the K2 Pathway to Settlement System could be adapted to suit Gateway’s needs.
