On Sunday, May 25, Temporary Foreign Workers gathered at Leamington United Mennonite Church for an important information session on Forced Labour, hosted by Legal Assistance of Windsor (LAW) and led by Executive Director Shelley Gilbert.
Before the presentation, attendees shared a warm meal together—an opportunity to connect, relax, and build community.
During the session, workers learned how to recognize the warning signs of forced labour and what steps to take if they or someone they know is experiencing exploitation. The session also created space for open discussion and thoughtful questions.
We also distributed TeaMWork kits filled with helpful resources, backpacks, and planners to support workers in navigating life and work in Canada.
Thank you to everyone who attended—your engagement and awareness help build a stronger, more informed community.
