This past weekend, the Roman Catholic Diocese of London‘s Migrant Workers Ministry hosted a heartwarming hospitality event at St. Christopher Parish in Forest, Ontario. The evening began with a special Spanish Mass, where attendees gathered to celebrate their faith and community.

After Mass, Father blessed the food, and guests enjoyed a delicious dinner that fostered a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. With over 60 migrant workers in attendance, it was a great opportunity for everyone to connect and share in the evening’s positive energy. North Lambton Community Health Centre made the evening even more special by distributing backpacks filled with practical items like pens, mints, and informational handouts designed to assist workers during their stay in Canada.

Once dinner concluded, our TeaMWork Project Liaison spoke to attendees about the Migrant Worker Support Program, sharing valuable insights into how the TeaMWork Project helps workers navigate life in Canada. Hector introduced NLCHC, a partner in Lambton County, emphasizing the important role they play in supporting workers through health services and community connections. NLCHC’s Migrant Worker Program is dedicated to ensuring that workers have access to health care, resources, and support throughout their time in Canada. These services are essential in helping migrant workers stay informed, healthy, and connected to the communities they live in.

The event was a wonderful demonstration of how partnerships between community organizations can make a meaningful impact in the lives of migrant workers. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this successful evening!
