Windsor-Essex is the automotive capital of Canada and a strategic centre in North America for automotive parts and equipment.

This project showcases emerging technical occupations in the automotive sector and those which are becoming more prominent based on new legislation and improvements by automakers as they adopt new technologies and processes.

Automakers are looking to diversify and expand their product lines. With an outlook for growth locally in auto making and tertiary industries, Workforce WindsorEssex conducted interviews and consultations with industry stakeholders to understand the changing demands in the auto industry and the what skills workers looking to start a career in automotive should have.
