Unemployment Rate Drops 1.2% to 9.7%
Good news for Windsor's jobless rate, Statistics Canada's latest release of its Labour Force Survey shows an unemployment rate drop from 10.9% in December 2010 to 9.7% in January 2011.
Windsor is now tied with the highest unemployment rate with St. Catherines-Niagara, which suffered a setback in January, with their unemployment rate rising from 9.4% to 9.7%.
In comparison, just one year ago, the unemployment was 3.2% higher at 12.9% in January 2010.
