 Services Available for Youth 

Connects those looking for work with employers through assessment of skills, capabilities, interests and experience. Assists with job search strategies, resume preparation, on-the-job training and/or work experience.

 

 Services Available On Campus 

Offers a wide variety of programs and resources that assist University of Windsor students and recent graduates, with career development matters including career exploration and planning, job search strategies, resume writing, interview preparation, and experiential education.

Provides service to all graduates and enroled students seeking employment. Its mandate is to provide information to assist students in finding permanent, part-time, temporary and seasonal employment.

Summer Job Service for Current & Returning Students 

This Ontario government program can help you find a summer job. The program provides free services to improve your job-search and self-marketing skills. Students must be between the ages of 15 to 30.

The program offers the following:

  • Free training on how to develop job-search and self-marketing skills to help you land and keep a job; wage support for businesses and farms, as well as not-for-profit and other community organizations to hire students 

  • Jobs that can last up to 16 weeks beginning in April and ending by September 30

Federal Student Work Experience Program – Provides full-time students with valuable, hands-on work experience related to their field of study and allows for a wealth of learning opportunities.

 

New Beginnings

  • Summer Jobs for Youth - This program provides young people who are 15 – 18 years of age with summer job opportunities so they can get real work experience. The program is geared to youth who want to have their first job experience. It includes six weeks of paid employment in an area that matches their future career interest.

 

Ontario Skills Passport - Provides clear descriptions of the essential skills and work habits important for work, learning and life. 

 

Student Job Bank - An electronic listing of jobs provided by employers from everywhere across Canada from Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.

  • Summer Company - A great opportunity for enterprising young people who want to start and run their own small business. The program provides full time students ages 15-29 with an exciting opportunity to explore entrepreneurship hands on.
  • Canadian Youth Business Foundation -  A national charitable not-for-profit organization that provides start-up financing up to $15,000, mentoring and educational resources that empower young Canadians 18-34 to start and grow businesses.
