About Wind Energy

     WFWE EXCLUSIVE

Wind energy can be used to generate electricity with a variety of wind turbine sizes. The amount of electricity produced is often classified in ranges varying from less than 10 kilowatts, between 10 kilowatts and 500 kilowatts and greater than 500 kilowatts. Most current business activity is focused on larger wind turbines producing greater than 500 kilowatts. Large wind turbines are often installed in groups to create a wind farm which generates electricity that is sold to the electrical grid.

An excellent source of information about wind energy in Canada is the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) website: http://www.canwea.ca/.
